To help honor our brother and sister NY Emergency Medical
Service providers who lost their lives in the World Trade Center attack, and
the many others who have paid with their lives while helping others, please
send an email to Governor George Pataki, with copies to Senate Majority Leader
Joe Bruno and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver.
- Request that
legislation to create an Emergency Medical Services Line of Duty Death
Memorial at the Empire State Plaza be expedited in light of the World
Trade Center attack.
- Tell the Governor that
A-2975 and S-2280 are bills that would create this memorial but are
stalled in the Finance Committee.
- Let the Governor know
that Law Enforcement and the Fire Service both have already been given
similar memorials by New York State.
- Tell the Governor what
your certification level is, and that you want him and the legislature to
help you honor your brave fellow EMS providers in the same way that Police
and Fire personnel are honored.
- Be sure to provide your
name, full mailing address (including zip code) and phone number. Email addresses are not adequate to
ensure your voice is heard!
